Adrian Dima
Who I am and who I write for
My name is Adrian Dima, and since 2018, I have been a co-founder at KFactory, the first Industry 4.0 start-up funded in Romania, which soon became a well-known brand in the Romanian industrial market. I write for small and medium-sized manufacturers who don’t have the budgets to hire consultants, IT project managers, or specialised in-house staff.
I discovered coding when I was 14, made my first money in software at 17, and my first full-time job was in production. I wrote and implemented IoT applications (before the term was invented) for monitoring and controlling industrial furnaces. Then I implemented Microsoft business products: Navision and Axapta (back then). I switched to business development and had the chance to be part of some strategic projects at the national level.
In the last 10+ years, I transitioned into entrepreneurship, and since 2018, I have been a co-founder at KFactory, the first Industry 4.0 start-up funded in Romania, which soon became a well-known brand in the Romanian industrial market.
I have delivered hundreds of projects, ranging from 1000 to 33 million euros, for small, medium, large, corporate, and government clients.
Together with my colleagues at KFactory, we have visited hundreds of factories and implemented our platform in dozens, and the number is growing rapidly every year.
The level of digital education in manufacturing is low and evolving too slowly. It’s not entirely the fault of people in the industry, but the effect is felt by all: factories, IT vendors, consultants, and trade associations.
The manufacturing industry is growing in number, but it needs to become more efficient. Efficiency comes mainly from the right use of technology.
As my clients are now in manufacturing, I write for small and medium-sized manufacturers who don’t have the budgets to hire consultants, IT project managers, or specialised in-house staff.
I don’t pretend to write academically or in lofty language, to cover all topics 100%, or to be politically correct.
If I manage to open the eyes of at least some of the decision-makers in the factories, it is my contribution to the faster evolution of a market where we will all be better off.
